Im sorry Satay sue do i know you? Do you know me? Have we known each other for a long time that you know my personalityl,ikes and dislikes? No right? Even if she was your daughter, u still have to understand her own personality, opinion. Etc Unless all of you have met ivy, know her personally and know wher she is comin from, i suggest all that were criticizing to back away. I dont admit I know ivy well either, but im not going to judge her because of her age. Legally shes 16, but maybe her mindset is 24. I knew a girl who was 22, but was thinking and acting like she was 30.

16-20 a bit weird.
16-22 stranger but still no problem.
16-25 getting into dangerous territory. Yes, the 25 year old is a bit of a predator but the 16 year old would get something to boast about too so long as she's not too serious. but then,

20 and 25 np,
20 and 28 I find that strange but still acceptable
20 and over 30's very strange
20 to late 30's seriously?? People don't find that strange?
20 to 42??? This is not predatory???

24-46 yah, she's mature, yah it feels like she's a lot older, yah we have lots of common interests and do everything together. It feels as though there is no age difference between us. I heard that too too much.She makes me feel rejuvenated. Etc etc.
I know it happens all the time, especially here in HK. Older HK men with Chinese ladies,or any older man with a Chinese lady, gweilos with HK girls, gweilos with Philippine girls, it's not so rare in Japan either when you have gweilos with Japanese girls. I suppose nowadays it's socially acceptable. Out of curiosity, which famous English or American did she think you look like on your first few dates?? Tom Cruise or David Beckham?

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's sick but it definitely feels odd. 4 years ago, it wasn't acceptable when she was 16 but she matures enough in 4 years for you to get serious enough so as to marry her. I wouldn't want to volunteer that information on a public forum.

I'm a big fan of age doesn't matter in a relationship but there are limits. How did her parents feel when she was 20 and her parents found out a 42 year old was taking advantage of her?

Having said all that, what's done is done and I still wish you all the best. There may be the extremely rare case when it does work out, and I certainly hope this is one of them. I'm sure you are doing your best and you have certainly done well for yourself. I did joke when I was in Uni and say that my future wife was not born yet. But as I get older, and even though I now relate better to people in their early twenties, I realize more and more the differences in the age difference. I would maintain that the best age difference is 7 years younger when looking for a wife as my grandmother told me when I was 17. In the next sentence, she told me I should get married by 19. Bless the old sweetheart, she laughed as she realized what she said.

This shouldn't be anyone's business you know, it's just not the sort of thing to post in public and to invite criticism. Ivy, come back when you are 20, then it will be ok and you can prey on the 42 year olds here.
