Hi, such a great thread! If anyone is interested in volunteering or has any new ideas please let me know. I'm a non-chinese speaker though
I would be interested in helping the dog shelter but I can't speak Cantonese or Manderine. Maybe you could help me?
Romaana..did you just send me a PM??? I have done a bit of volunteer work here in HK and language generally is NOT a problem really.what did you want to know?
I did a bit of voluntary work with a missionary group in Namcheong. they teach English for kids in the neighbourhood and also provide meals for homeless people. volunteers can involve in teaching or serving food; usually happens on Saturday afternoons. I am a non-chinese speaker as well, did not have any problem communicating so far.
