    Singles spots?

Im just looking for a place where i can relax, possibly meet some people, but in a soft environment.

I dont want to go to a club, or anywhere crazy or expensive.

Just a relaxed, laidback, comfortable atmosphere where i can drink some tea or wine or beer, have a snack, sit by myself without shame, and have friendly people around who might want to chat.

Or is there a calm bar, where singles go to chit chat, and meet over a beer?

I have a girlfriend, so im not really looking to get funky or anything....lol

But so far the places ive gone i have gone by myself have been slightly boring, and no conversation.

    So.....any suggestions?

trying to go out tonight....so let me know asap....thanks

Have you tried Starbucks or Pacific Coffee? If you go on a really crowded time (Saturdays, or lunch breaks during the week), then you will have to sit with other people And a conversation can be manipulated from there.

problem with that...is that you might end up sitting with people you realllllly dont want to sit with...lol

    its a catch 22 i guerss......

theres no chill bar, that doesnt get toooo crowded....where it is friendly?

when i was in shanghai, and ningbo, and xi'an.....i would go to these bars, where people would see me sitting there and come and say hello....

most of them happened to be college kids...which is ok...

is there a nice place where university kids hang?

Oh, you want to meet university kids??? Go to Hong Kong University Campus (which is open to all)... Sit at Starbucks or the "Happy" garden in front of the Main Library so you will meet loads of University kids...
If you are a foreigner speaking English, most students would like to talk to you. Hope it suits you at last...

i just want a chill bar or tea house.....not starbucks....
if i dont go there in the USA...i sure as hell aint gonna start in HK

I don't go to starbucks in the US, but I practically live there here

Try "Kangaroo Pub(or bar)" in wanchai on lockhart rd. Generally a younger crowd than other bars, and the scene around the pool table is very, very friendly.

Sorry to go off topic slightly, but I am low twenties and chinese.

Anyway? AA did you say pool table? 9 ball or dots and stripes? Haven't had a game in ages but do you know of anywhere closer to TST?

    Thanks
