    Criminal record

I am in the process of applying for a HK employment visa and I just found out that the HK immigration dept check for criminal records.

The problem is - I have a record

I was arrested for possession & supply of cannabis in 1998 while at university.

It is a minor offence [only a small amount of cannabis] and as such I got 120 hours of community service - no prison time or fines

According to UK law it's a spent conviction and I dont need to declare it if I apply for a job in the UK.

Will the HK immigration dept find out about it and if they do will they refuse my employment visa?

What makes you think that? It's the first I've heard of criminal background checks on Employment Visas.

Quality Migrant Admission Scheme Visas, yes, but not Employment Visas as far as I know.
