I am in the process of applying for a HK employment visa and I just found out that the HK immigration dept check for criminal records.
The problem is - I have a record
I was arrested for possession & supply of cannabis in 1998 while at university.
It is a minor offence [only a small amount of cannabis] and as such I got 120 hours of community service - no prison time or fines
According to UK law it's a spent conviction and I dont need to declare it if I apply for a job in the UK.
Will the HK immigration dept find out about it and if they do will they refuse my employment visa?
