    handing in your notice..

hi, - .my partner has been working for a medical industry firm for just over a month now, and will be looking to be there for possibly another month around to the end of september, early october.

how much, if any notice does she have to give?.

she tells me she signed up to no contract and was just given like immediate start after the interview, nothing much said after that.
    all pretty fast moving...

she didn't expect to be leaving so soon, and is about to be paid for this month's work and hoping they will pay her when she leaves/notice.

does she have to give notice then?, and how much if any?.
is there anything they can do, as in to say NO to her etc?.

does she need to verbally tell them or is a letter better and when should she hand/say it to them?.

    thanks much everyone...

she must have a notice period written in her contract.

If not, it is reasonable to give one month's notice.

Best she suggest a month's notice and then negotiate with her manager.

thanks, but all she told me that there is no contract, just was an interview and that was it.
they did tell her she was under 3 months probation.
she has just completed a month.....

Have a look at the labour ordinance.

    See here

I think it looks like 7 days.

If no contract and under probation she need only give 7 days notice.
