Any hope for a science PhD?

    Hello All,

I've already learned a lot from these forums! I've seen a lot of people post on having MBAs . . what about someone with a degree in a hard science (PhD) from a top university? Here in the states the options are pretty much consulting, like environmental, agency, like EPA, or industry (don't have experience with that really). No interest in academics.

If anyone could help me brainstorm some strategies for looking I would appreciate it.

    Thanks!

I am a PhD graduate from a top uni. I can tell you that there aren't many oppportunities since R&D is weak in HK. IMHO, most consulting firms prefers MBA rather than PhD.

    >> hard science

    Which one?

Depends on how much of that could be transfered into a real life requirement to be honest. I'd imagine there isnt much demand for a nuclear physics grad in HK ... but biology / chemistry could be transfered more easily.

Depending on what your PhD is in, there is demand from the financial services industry for people with good hard science PhDs, to work on financial engineering/structuring.
