Job in Tokyo

One of my close friend got job in Tokyo. Salary negotiation is remaining. He has around 4 year of expeirence and he is joining a top investment bank in Japan. Can you please help what package he should ask. As he is not aware about Japan Payscale.

Checked with someone at GS and the response was "6-9 million yen" depending on his credentials and type of job he's being hired to do etc etc ... (way too many disclaimers were attached to $ amount).

If your friend is already working in a major market in the US like NYC then I think a 30% increase over current salary to cover COLA. If the friend is coming from a smaller market, then a larger increase.

Thanks thewongs, i am aware that 30% + is the market rate. But I am insterested to know the normal salary range in Japan for an IT professional having 4 years of experience in Investment banking. I know there can be lots of if n but. But whats the average/standard.
