Average And High Work Hours In Hong Kong

How many hours of work in Hong Kong are considered "high" and "average"?
As I generally like working I was going to propose to some prospective employers that I would work more than other people, however, I don't of course want to accidentally propose a time that is lower than average .

Long hours spent in the office don't equal hard work...

I would consider "high" to be anything above about 50 hours a week.

I did a summer job once processing applications for income protection for mortgage policies. Anyone who said they worked 60 hours or more per week had to have a compulsory medical.

He did... it's you who thought his reply was serious despite the grin.

I don't equate hard work to long hours because as you can see by the activity on this website during work hours, it doesn't work that way.

But I definitely don't think a good angle to impress an employer is to tell them you'll work long hours. That seems to he everybody's "trick" here and all it means is that everyone works longer hours.

It's like everyone standing on tiptoes so they can see over the guy in front... why not all just agree to sit down?
