    getting close to 20 years under my belt, not to mention 2 successful centres that i've started.

    back to the OP, passport can make a difference, but to some employers not as much difference as your ethnicity. sadly, many locals will not accept a chinese face teaching english... no matter if that chinese person cannot speak a word of english.

    Yeah, I'm understand this unfortunate reality quite well. Anyways, do you have any recommendations for obtaining a TEFL certificate? How does the online certificates compare to certificates with in-classroom observed hours? Thanks a lot.

    for the tefl you can have a look at this website:

    gives you loads of info. I booked my course through them and i don't think it cost extra (I guess they get some commission from the tefl company or something)
