Question Any Recruiters/Headhunters here able to give me an idea...

on what life is like? I'm lucky enough to get two job offers and sometimes having an option creates the difficulty of having to choose one.

One of them is a leadership role as a business manager where I will be leading a new department. This will be for a small to medium sized company, however the title and the work involved is challenging and will look good on my CV for the coming years.

The other is as a recruitment consultant. I'm new to the game, but I always find it intriguing. It's for a large size company and they seem to have a good structure in working your way up. I'm however just not so sure what the typical work life is like.

I get phone calls sometimes on Friday nights or weekends from headhunters and it gives me the impression that they work their tails off. I don't mind doing that, but I just need to what extent so that the wifey gets some heads-up. Do most candidates meet after work hours?

I also hear that it could be quite lucrative as you work your way up and solid contacts and knowledge within the industry. Any truth to this? I was told I will start off with roughly 30K per month, base plus commission. Is this in-line with how you guys started off?

I have to make my decision soon, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

I can give you a rough idea - have been in the industry for almost 4 years. Working hours really depend on your firm & workload, i finish work at 6 everyday for eg but others i know do work longer. What is your background, if you dont mind me asking? 30k is not a bad figure as a base salary.
