If You Have Annual Leave Remaning That Doesn't Carry Over = Compensation?

In my current situation, myself and a co-worker have a few days left of annual leave.

There seems to be little opportunity for us to take the leave before the end of the calendar year that ends Dec 31st. Our company also states we're unable to carry it over.

So does that mean we can go the route of being paid out?

Does something like this apply to myself?

Maybe if you quit your job.

Depends. Some companies pay it. Some companies let you carry it over. Some companies make you lose it. As yours seems to be #3, tough.

Rather than asking Geo, you need to ask your company.

You can carry the leave forward for a maximum of 12 months according to the Employment Ordinance.
Or you can ask for it to be paid out, assuming your company plays along. However be aware that such payment might be calculated on calendar days and it is taxable income.
