English teacher salary at private learning center?

Hello, I recently interviewed at a private laerning center focused on K1 thru P6 students.
When asked about my rate I said $300 an hour. They seemed okay with this.
Now, they would like me to give them a salary figure for part time 25 hours a week and full time 40 hours. I'm not sure how to calculate this. What is a resonable salary for part time? Full time?.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

40 hours: Anywhere from 16500-25000 depending on experience, responsibility, holidays, sick pay, benefits, contact time, etc.

    Hope that helps!!

What proportion of those hours are teaching hours? If you don't know, that's the first question to ask.

Looking in my crystal ball ............. your not going to get the job. They are just going to choose the cheapest option and are too lazy to do the math, hence the question. At 300 bucks for an hour in a regular tutor school teaching locals and not one of those claiming to be elite and charging 800 bucks plus per hour, your an expensive hire when most work in the 200 - 250 range for children older than these. Getting people for K and P you can get some to work for 150 or less.

There is a website somewhere ( seen it but don't have a link ) that shows normal tutor pay rates. It will shock you. My local Tai Po operation 250 for a local hire session, 500 for Mr John the round eye.

FOR THOSE THAT SAY THEY EARN MORE - yeah yeah yeah. If your an independent and home visitor - working S band students, yes it can be good hourly money. That's not the gig the OP is talking about.

Boris - You can get people to work for $150 or less? Are we talking at native English level?

Yes, there are native English speakers willing to work for $150 or less. However, the vast majority of them do not have any teaching qualifications so have to take what they are offered.

I appreciate the information! It's all so interesting; the way this business functions. I've had more positive than negative experiences finding employers willing to pay what I'm worth. True, it takes longer to find a job, but it's possible to find an employer who understands "you get what you pay for".
