    Employment Visa

    Hello.

How do you get a working visa when you don't have a job?

You can't get a job because you are not in Hong Kong.

You need a provisional job offer first and then the company sponsors you for a work visa which may or not be granted unless you fulfill certain criteria.

You don't have to be in HK to get a job or potential job offer.

come here on a tourist visa (don't know about your country, but Canadian TV is good for 90 days) and look for work...impress company enough to sponsor you...change visa to extension of stay for employment visa...watch the $HK roll in...

I second that opinion (to be fare: not currently in HK, lived in China mainland 2001-2006).
I have come across several posts in other places (eslcafe for example) and there is a running positive opinion that:

You can come over on your tourist visa into HK and put out CVs, look for work, and when you make a good impression, get the sponsored visa.

Technically it is NOT legal, but then again...nobody is following you AROUND, the logistics of THAT would be incredible!

Good luck! I will be doing the same come 2010, just putting "survival money" together for now...
