    Looking for a job

My husband and I just moved to Hong Kong from the US and I'm looking for a job. I'm thinking of either a part time job or a work from home job. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find these kind of jobs?

Skills? Interests? Experience? Location? Do you want the extra money, or is it more to stop you getting bored out of your brain?

    .... WHAT kind of jobs?

(it never ceases to amaze me when someone comes on here asking for advice on "a job", "a flat" etc)

Domestic helper. You can work from home.

I'm just looking for something to keep me busy and save up money for traveling. I worked for an eye surgeon for 5 years, I've working in a coffee shop for a couple of years and worked at a hotel for a couple of years.

Um, it would be slightly useful to those among us who would like to suggest pointers or advice (or even a job opportunity) if you could give us some sense of what you did at the eye surgeon's, the coffee shop, and the hotel. :-) These cover a pretty wide range of possibilities in terms of your experience, interests and qualifications. Also, what languages do you speak?

And just for the avoidance of doubt, do you have a visa that allows you to work?

From her post, I just assume she is on a dependent visa since she is here with husband.

Who knows? If her husband is here studying, for example, then she wouldn't have the right to work even on a Dependant Visa. Or he might be here on a Working Holiday Visa with her tagging along as a visitor...

Beware of anyone advising that you can work in Hong Kong, get paid for working in Hong Kong and get around the visa issue.

Though it seems OP probably has a dependent visa allowing her to work (barring those mentioned by Gruntfuttock).
