    Well I was going to be flexible as have no idea what there is to offer when I arrive so willing to teach one on one or in a class. I thought with the TESOL certificate I would be prepared. Can you give me any info on salary for either case?

    I am chinese born in the UK. Not too keen on going to people's houses firstly because of safety and secondly I have young kids of ny own....assume private tutoring therefore will be mainly evenings!

    no experience, probably from HK$150 per hour, but beware there are a lot of tutoring centres ''sharks'' who take advantage bbc/ccc/abc fresh of the boat

    minimium tefl, but tesol is preferred

    Who would give him $150 an hour? I wouldn't.

    Thanks all. Given me something to think about. Maybe I really should consider private tutoring?!

    I think you should probably consider other career options. You don't sound like you have many of the factors that make it a sucess here, which include:
    * White face
    * Experience
    * Proper Education quals (more than just Tesol)

    Would not the Trinity certTESOL plus a degree be a good start?
