    Tung Chung to Tai Po

    Hi all,

Just got a new job at the Japanese International School on Tai Po Road, Tai Po, roughly half way between Tai Po Market and University MTR stations. Was just wondering if anyone knew the fastest way to get there from Tung Chung. Would it be MTR or is there a bus that goes up there?

    Thanks in advance

E41 maybe? And then a Taxi from the KWONG FUK ESTATE 廣福邨 stop in Tai Po to the school should not be much.

Also look on the full website: http://www.kmb.hk/en/services/search.html

The MTR would definitely be faster. The Tung Chung - Nam Cheung - Hung Hom - Tai Po route is fairly civilised (compared with going via Kowloon Tong), I've been doing that for the last 2 years commuting between DB and CUHK.

I wouldnt knock the E41 bus route..recently i have been using this route fron Taipo to Tung Chung and its pretty quick, once out of Tung Chung its all highway until Kwong Fuk Estate .With the MTR you would be wasting time on the interchanges and its only $13.9!

The E41 is the one you get on at the back of Tung Chung MTR station, right? If so, I caught this several times last year, and the journey is approx. 45mins, so way faster than taking the MTR to Tai Po.

From Tai Po, good bus and mini-bus to JIS. Also, my suggestion would be E41 instead of MTR.

For those interested,I have taken the journey several times now. The E41 is without question the fastest way up there, which takes about 50 minutes. The bus, however, does not go through Tai Po Road (Tai Po Kau), and for this, the fastest way is to take the MTR to Fo Tan station and change to the 28K minibus which leaves opposite The Palazzo hotel (total journey takes roughly one hour). Thanks to all for the information provided!

Did you have a motorcycle license back home? 500HKD to transfer to a HK license and get a bike

Good luck at your new job!
