No travel time if students come to you.

Can charge a premium if you go to the students.

Also depends on age group, specialisation and hourly rates. There's a woman who teaches kids English, for ages from 6 months (!) through to 7 year olds (or maybe it's 5 or 6 years). HKD1000 for 30 minutes. Back to back 30 minute sessions the whole day (different kids every half hour, in case that's not clear :-)).

so, based on an eight hour day, 16k per day, and based on a five day week, 320k per month.

10 hrs Sat and Sunday, 3 hours for the other 5 days - very packed but doable.

add in prep time and down time for students to leave and arrive (presuming you have a place to teach for free) its more like 60 hrs per week. Not part time. Not even close.

add in travel and you will be averaging 12 hr days. Seven days a week. For that, I would expect more than 84K

hourly-rate teaching always looks better on paper than it actually is.

She does rake it in, although I don't know how many hours she works each day :-). She's quite well known among a certain type of parent. Long line of parents waiting for an opening :-)
