Can someone recommend job agency? Looking for IT job.

    Hi All,

Can you guys recommend an agency that would help me to find a job? Is an agency the best to find a job?

I'm currently employed by a large international company, just relocated from Canada. It seems like the package they offered is not fair, and I'm going to look for something new.

    Thank you in advance.

Have you compared rates? Hong Kong local remuneration is significantly lower than in the Occident.

If you just relocated from Canada and if your company sponsored you to come to Hong Kong, would it be OK to change job so quickly ?
Back to your question, I've dealt with the following recruiters. Robert Walters, Robert Half, Charterhouse Partners, ConnectedGroup. They can give you a good idea on how marketable you are and the current job market condition.

I'm in Hong Kong and work here. My company arranged visa for me.

    Thanks.

I compared the rates and my position pays 50-100% than I get.

You're absolutely right, changing a job after spending month in Hong Kong is not something I want to do. I was looking forward to working for the company, and I also like the project.

But my rate is 50-100% less than the market pays for my position, I'm talking 35K for team lead in IT, where salaries for similar positino range from 50-70K/month. I also pay my own accomodation.

    Thanks.

Just curious, was there any reason why your package wasn't negotiated before you came here?

Did you ask for the relocation or did your company ask you to relocation?

I will say, 35K is significantly lower than what the market is paying at the moment. Usually, you can ask for a double for this position and you know it well.
To be honest, your package is really not attractive and why you decided to relocate back to HK. How's you pay in Canada in the past?
What's make you back to HK?

The idea to relocate was mine. The deal was 'negotiated' but I was assured that the deal will be fair, including compensation. My salary in Canada was almost 100K CAD. And they translated it to 35K HKD a month!
