    Monthly budget realistic?

Hi everyone. I'll be moving to Hong Kong in August to start a new job. I am provided with housing and have a salary of HKD 20,000 a month. Is this a budget I can be on to spend some and save some? FYI, I'm single and in my late 20s. Just want to have a realistic idea on how much I can spend on entertainment and basic monthly expenses before I get there. Thanks!

Definitely doable. Check another thread here about surviving in HK on 14K a month. There's a good breakdown for monthly expenses there.

If I've done this right - this should be the link to a useful post:

Thanks everyone! Def helpful. I just wanted to know if I could put aside some money since I will be getting married next year.

You definitely can, but how much per month saved depends on you. The main burden of housing has already been sorted for you, and I've known several people with similar situations leaving up to 10k per month, but they were living VERY frugally.

    More than enough. No problem.
