Your potential employer would need to show that the job could not be done by a local and that the salary was high enough to support yourself. I don't think your chances are good given the jobs you mention.

It's going to be difficult as those roles you won't get a work visa for as they can be done by locals.

Plenty of Philippine nationals working in service industry jobs like Pacific Coffee, etc. Not my bailiwick, but clearly there must exist an imported labour program separate to the domestic helper program.

OP should use some initiative and get out and about and find Filipinos currently working legally in service industry jobs in HK and ask them how (and importantly WHERE) they were recruited. Chances are through extortionate agents back home. But the first step is finding out from people who have already achieved the desired result.

    No such program for Pinays.

Next time you see one, ask them - you'll find that they were (or still are) married to a PR and became a resident thru marriage.

Some of them will be on dependent visas, it is a common route in (which is why immigration are tough on marriages they deem suspicious).

Fair enough. But in that case going by a particular coffee shop chain I frequent there's either a lot of dodgy marriages of convenience or a very long waiting list for ophthalmologists in public hospitals.

Apparently the going rate is HKD 20k (but that was a few years ago). Divorce after the 7 years for PR. I knew 2, one worked in OCH and one in D2D.

I find it more worrisome that I could easily decode the names of those two establishments than the fact that sham marriages are taking place!

Did you ever bump into Dr Doom in D2D back in the 90s? Used to park his motorcycle outside.

I hasten to add there are plenty of legitimate Filipinos here on dependent visas!
