    Redundancy packages

I saw that some posts talked about redundancy packages previously, just curious what are these typically like, are we talking several months salary, something that would matter, or just a couple of months based on your years of service.

Banking and some other sectors give out generous "gardening leave", presumably in high IP / competitive areas.

Standard expat shit ... whats on the contract + ticket home? If you're lucky relo expenses covered.

Standard local shit ... whats on the contract / long term service?

redundancy package for local contract is usually max 15k$ x number of years worked and they can take that amount from the employers contribution to your MPF.

    SUCKS

Ok, so people use the word redundancy packages like it's something special. Note to self, Redundancy package = nothing.

Another question, if you are notified of redundancy, do you still get a notice period paid out, or is it assumed that since you knew of the redundancy, there is no termination payment being made, given that the notice of redundancy is greater than your notice period per the contract.

Is there any typical notice to redundancy given, staying on board until this date, or typically is it pack your stuff and go.

Very much industry and job specific. Some jobs, you'll be walked out of the door and your desk will be cleaned up, boxed and given to you or shipped to you.

By the way, if you think local firings are bad - read this - epic fucktardry from Facebook's HR.
