    PGDE in China?

Can you work in China with a PGDE in HK?
    Is it recognized?
Im just thinking if I should get a PGDE or an MEd.

What do you want to teach, at what level, to whom, in which area?

For mainland the answer is ALWAYS, "it depends", and the answer for any given situation can change with minimal notice.

I don't think a PGDE, even from Oxbridge, would be of much use for that unless you are looking at the more reputable international schools and teaching Eng. Lit/ Use of Language at native speaker level. For universities, probably an MEd TESOL would serve you better

For "mill" work, proper teaching qualifications can be a downright DISadvantage, because the really stupid, $$$ instead of educational value, and face instead of content programmes and requirements of staff will drive you NUTS. And the fact that you will almost certainly know more about what you are doing than the Director of Studies is likely to cause Complications lest they lose face.
It IS possible to make it work in such circumstances, but you need to be prepared to do a heap of Due Diligence on potential employers and put up with a whole lot of cr@p on the way.

    jmbf and Elegiaque like this.
