    Engineering Job

Hi guys! I’m new in Hong Kong. I’m a registered Civil Engineer back in my country. Do you know any civil engineering jobs? I have a 11 years experience but in my own firm back at my country. I am still studying basic cantonese. Any referrals? Tried applying online but unfortunately to no avail.

What is your experience? Majority of the Filipino Civil Engineers here are working as Planning and QA/QC Engineers. Get registered at likedin and jobsDB. I got my job thru jobsDB. By the way, what visa are you having now? It is easier to get hired if you have a ready visa. I was hired in a week time from landing here in HK as I were on dependent visa. I am a Civil Engineer, as well.

Hi toni. I already applied in jobsdb, cpjobs and linkedin. I mostly do from architectural design to planning to client liaison to 3d drawings to site implementation to hiring of staff. Basically doing almost all since I own my small company back at my country. I have a dependent visa

I am an electrical engineer and find engineering headhunters pretty helpful. If you are interested I can share some contacts that have helped me before. You can try applying directly to company websites as well. Also, is there an expat engineers networking group in Hong Kong?

Hi Elio, I am doing air conditioning work around Hong Kong, it maybe easier for you to find western company (international company) , the other way maybe start your own business in the future. It is not easy to get into local market as you don't know the language and law (license stuff). It will take sometime to build the connection. all the best.

Hi hkaircon. I am trying to get in touch with western company. My problem is my experience since my company back then is just a small one. More on looking for a work than starting a business. Haven’t tried posting ads since im just new here. Might be a good try.

Hi there. In Hong Kong, we follow the UK system which means you have to be Chartered Engineer to get a good job here.
If you are from Canada or Australia, you can apply RRA to transfer your membership to HKIE.
But you will be invited for technical interview and assessment.

It would be difficult for you to land a good job, because most of us have got design experience in infrastructure and super-high rise building.)
Also, some companies (such as Atkins/AECOM/Arup) may find it difficult to offer you a good salary and position.

    Btw, I'm Chartered Engineer (MVAC)
