Question When does my salary get paid?

What's the usual norm in Hong Kong when it comes to salary?
If you are paid on the 25th, are you being paid from previous month 25th to the current month 25th?
Or the current month pay is for the whole month?

You get paid for the whole current month in arrears.

    The law is quite simple:

    Payment of Wages
Wages shall become due on the expiry of the last day of the wage period. An employer should pay wages to an employee as soon as practicable but in any case not later than seven days after the end of the wage period. An employer is required to pay interest on the outstanding amount of wages to the employee if he fails to pay wages to the employee within seven days when it becomes due.

You get paid for the month you've worked.

    i.e 1st June to 30th June.

Some companies pay slightly early (I get paid on 28th June for this month)

Some companies, sadly, push the law to its limits and pay days after (e.g. 7th of July for June work).

    What does your contract say?

this doesn't mean you are paid for the duration of May 28 to June 27 right?

No. I’ll be paid on 28th June for the duration 1st June-30th June.

it depends on your contract. What does your contract say? Do you have a contract?
