design jobs in HK??

Hi,

I am a UK Accessories designer who is hoping to move to HK with my boyfriend who has accepted a job at Nike AP. Does anyone know of any companies that I could contact as I am desperately trying to find a job designing bags for a good brand! I am in contact with some recruiters but as yet have had no luck..... please help!

Hi - thanks for the help, I'll give them a try! Really I'm looking for something in fashion design/ bag design not graphics, any more ideas? Also, I am moving to HK in October so if I haven't found a job how long can I stay on a visitor/ holiday visa?

if you don't find an employer, you might consider setting up your own company. check out the current thread titled freelance offered but no visa (or something like that). sounds like you have experience and heck, china's labor force is right around the corner. a fantastic opportunity to start your own line perhaps.

Hi, thanks for the good advice! How hard is it to set up your own business in HK? It sounds like something I would like to do but I have heard you need shareholders etc, which all sounds very complicated! I would want to set up my own design company and design my own range rather than provide a service as a freelance designer - is this possible or does it make it more difficult to get a visa? So many questions....
