Subcontracting vs Employment

    Thanks Zerocred, it is true that if you go into a consulting role vs. employment, there is more flexibility, though that's not what he was after. I suppose I just wish they had been more open in explaining things as my husband didn't realise he could claim costs against fees received and hasn't maintained a file of receipts. It has definitely been a learning curve and hopefully he'll get his next position through the EDB.

    Thank you, also, MovingIn07 for your additional comments. I'm all for laissez-faire. Yes, they helped him find employment and conversely, without my husband and others like him, the agency would have no income. It's win-win in the end. What irked me is how much they likely have creamed off the top and their payment timeline. I doubt he'll be subcontracting himself in future
