what is my chances?

got a called up for final interview for a job that i really want.
problem is, the chairman just met me for less than 5 minutes and ask me to go home and wait for notification. this is a newly set up company. my friend who is applying for the secretary job, which is more immediately required was offered a job on the spot.
i didn't even know if i screwed up ,why did i screwed up.?
i've got the experience and qualification..
not that you can help me or advise in anyway.. just want to feel better.. writing out.

Actully maybe the Chairman no need to see u for that long if he found u are qulified. so u don't need to worry maybe he was just too busy with sth. I really understand wait for such phone calls and interviews is torment....i am suffering too

do u think it is pushy to call and ask about the outcome? i already wrote an e-mail thanking for the interview and ask about outcome but no reply.

When did they say they'll make a decision by?

Also what did you put on the e-mail?

you have done what you can... so no need to call and sounds even more pushy... they may just be interviewing all the applicants before making a final decision. or they may just be biding their time because the HR/directors are busy. Some hiring decisions have to go through alot of people...

my advice, is to keep looking for other jobs and keep applying... worse thing - they reject you but u have interviews lined up for other jobs
best thing - they accept you and you also have an offer for another pretty decent job

but pushy sometimes really works....my friend did so and she got the job, that might makes you look more serious to this position

well, i can't help it and called them yesterday. they said, no outcome from chairman yet but probably will have coming friday. so if they dont' call me tomorrow, take it that my application is not successful this time..

arghh.. i hope my phone rings tomorrow.
