Everyone employed in HK is subject to the same Employment Laws. If your contract is made in another country then you may have a case, but in that case you would be an expat employee not a local employee and the packages tend to look different in all sorts of ways.

My understanding of the Census stats is they are taken across all HK Residents at the time of the Census.

ok, I've just accepted the job with re-negotiated holiday and pay - so I now get 3 weeks off (and can discuss unpaid leave) with salary to be contracted to rise in 3 months! That's ok.
