Anyone Know of any Film Industry Agency Services? OR to Start a Visual Consutancy..

Hi, I have recently moved here with my other half who has a great job. I on the other hand am looking for work - my career has been predominantly in Film - worked on US productions, with Peter Jackson on films, global television commercials etc...

My work also has entailed designing interiors for office space (design focused and recently here in HK), wine labels, visual merchandising anything to do with visual styling and interior project management.

Anyone know where I can find a film agent or is there anyone that wants to team up in a business who maybe has the network covered but needs help creating and implementing creativity?

Check out the Film Services Office (government) website. It has a directory of agents and other companies involved in the industry.

Thanks very much for the info Claire, I have already contacted the FSO - I didn't see any agents per say, but I have uploaded my credits etc so hopefully they will post on their website. Usually in the UK/NZ or US agents act on behalf to find work for contractors such as myself. There has to be some here in HK... Surely?

The HK film industry is quite closed and controlled by a few. The only non-locals I know who have worked on productions here worked on overseas productions shooting in HK. But it was for jobs the overseas production companies didn't bother to pay to bring over their own staff so the work wasn't at the highest level.

One of my senior Australian friends has been designing artwork for Golden Harvest for many years, to name just one, he's also done a lot of work for the JC group ie Willy and Jackie productions aka Jackie Chan..

Pretty closed shop with very limited opportunities, unless you are already known to the industry here and if they already know of you, they would already be offering you work. ..
