    professional photo for interview/resume

    Hi folks,

I'm looking for some kind of film developing store on Kowloon side (if possible KWL Bay) where I can make a black and white picture (similar to passport picture)for mt resume.

Fotomax does only in color and when I asked them, to just switch to black and white on their cam, they said they couldn't...

So I hope somebody has an idea.

    Thanks

Why do you need a passport photo for your resume?

Its not for an english teaching job is it?

I would be very wary indeed of any company that requested photos on CVs.

Photos on resumes are not standard practice in Hong Kong. Resumes sometimes come with photos, but they are rare.

Putting your photo on a standard business resume is not wise as it shows a lack of business acumen and understanding of basics such as privacy laws in most places. It makes you stand out like a recent college grad with no work experience.

Photos are not asked for other than modeling or acting jobs as companies don't want to run the risk of violating privacy laws or discrimination claims.

Photos have proven to lead to bias whether it is being called for job interviews or admissions to universities. Studies have proven that consistently and this led to the elimination of this practice in most places.

It may not be wise, or necessary, but when I receive CVs- about 50% of them include a photo.
I've been asked for my photo from recruitment agencies. (although the one time my photo was requested, it was from a lower-level agency- so maybe it is more common with more junior positions)

What sort of positions have such a high rate of CVs with photos?

Photo on a CV? Looks tacky, looks cheap, looks smug; certainly can't help unless you are looking to get work in the 'very personal healthcare' industry.
