Do you think its too low?

I am going to move to HK with my boyfriend and my dog...we are both 29 and he has a consulting job, but may take some time off. Do you think we will be able to afford to live somewhere cool?

Sorry, I was being ironic. Honeslty 90.000 a month will give you a very decent lifestyle even after paying US taxes. Hope you enjoy your time in HK.!!!

got it. sorry about that-- sometimes i miss irony when it is delivered via forum postings!

anyway, since we have kind of segued to the topic of being able to have a good living in hk, do you have any suggestions of fun neighborhoods to live in?

i will be moving with my boyfriend and fairly small dog. i will be working in central, but my boyfriend won't have a job or will be consulting for his old company back in the us. my ideal would be that i would not have a terribly long commute to work and also that my boyfriend would be in a place where he could meet people, go out, have fun but also get outside and into nature. i guess i just want to put him in the best position to have a good time when i am not around and also that the dog might be able to go to the park on occasion.

    any thoughts?

    thanks!

You are aware that your boyfriend will not have permission to reside in HK, will have to leave every 3 months, and if he keeps coming straight back again will eventually be refused entry? (Unless he has some sort of right to HK residence by descent)

Only if she can sponsor and get approved an employment visa for him in th esame way as any other potential employer.
