    To the experienced job seekers

    Dear GeoExpat forum` guests,

I am writing with a request for a answer on one question which is bothering me for a while.

I am currently graduating with a Master degree in International Business from a TOP 20 university in Mainland China. I already have another joint degree Master in Business Management from a Slovenian and Bulgarian universities in Eastern Europe. I am fluent in English, good knowledge of Spanish but elementary knowledge in Mandarin (the master program was taught in English).

I have been reading this forum for a while and I have noticed that it is difficult to find an entry-level job in HK if you are not a Mandarin/Cantonese speaker or if you`re not in HK to face the recruiters.

My question is: Is my observation above correct? Should i give up looking for a job in HK from different web sites (even corporate) and put all my attention in other countries, where i have bigger chances?

Your opinion might save me some time or encourage me to continue seeking a job opportunity.

    Thank you in advance,
    Have a nice day!

    Hey Thompson,

there are plenty of opportunities out there and if you want to find a job in Hong Kong - go for it! Even though you are not in Hong Kong, you can still send out your resumes, and when a suitable opportunity arises then you may consider coming over for an interview. If you, however, believe that you may have good chances somewhere else apart from Hong Kong, why not pursue both opportunities in parallel? In any case, keep trying, you never know when the opportunity comes across. Good luck!

Try to identify international companies in HK that have formal new graduate recruiting and training programs. The application procedure for these is centralized (usually online), on a set time table, and a good way to get your foot in the door. These jobs would also be less likely to require Mandarin/ Cantonese than jobs at smaller and/ or local companies.
