20 minutes each way. So 40 minutes roundtrip.

From door to door - depends on which bus I catch.. but normally 7mins walking to Phase2 + 35mins bus + 8 mins walking to office so approx 50mins total each way.

BUT at least one day a week I work from home (zero commute time) and one day a week I go overseas (7+30 mins commute to airport plus a long flight!).

hmmm I am trying to find out if my 2 hours of total commute time each day is ridiculous or not. Cause back home in the US I use to think anything over 40 mins per day is bad.

About 15 minutes each way. I wouldn't like to commute 2 hours a day - it's a significant part of one's life being wasted.

I think whether the time is wasted or not depends on 1) mode of transport and 2) discipline.

If you commute by bus that enables seating, you can do many things during your commute. I work on my laptop or blackberry or learn languages on an ipod. I know several people who work on the bus.

If you walk or cycle, then this counts as 'exercise time' in my mind.

But the MTR is wasted time, unless you get on at the first stop, on account of the limited seating and the appalling noise making most stuff too distracting.

ave 3.20hrs round trip, possibly the long commuting trip within hong kong, you can even get to shenzhen quicker than going to my place, luckily i will be moving soon, thus commuting time will be reduced to around 2hrs round trip

I walk to work in a little under ten minutes. The only down side to living so close to the office is that the boss has a tendancy to think I will be happy to just pop in after hours, or return to the office after I've finished for the day. People also tend to assume that, because I live just around the corner, I won't mind working late, whereas those who live in Sai Kung would naturally expect to leave on time each day.
