i have to agree with almighty - if people get booted off here for telling jokes -( I noticed some one having a laugh about Ali G a few weeks ago got banned and all posts deleted even tho some were useful! )

    - then promoting prejudice against others should be stomped on too..

it may seem like a joke - but its really just reinforcing and perpetuating a crappy attitude..

strange how the homophobes are often sexist as well....................

    Whoa there.
Where is this over the top reaction coming from?
The fact is (feel free to go in there and check) : Toni&Guy happens to have more than its share of homosexual men working in there.
How exactly is making a joke out of the establishment's name :
    - brand the joker as a homophobe?
    - perpetuating a crappy attitude?
    - showing prejudice?

Sometimes a joke is just a joke.

oh we all know about the alleged preponderance of stereotypical gay men mincing in hair dressers

its just that Almighty's post struck a chord with me. - not that I am a gay man

so many people just jump on the "band wagon" - like a little dog pack wanting to be on the "winning side"

so all this social "pressure" is applied - and if you are gay then you get all this negative vibe all the time..

really there was no need to make any judgement or smart ar$ed jokes about T+G - simply recommending was enough with out expressing a connotation.

Old fashioned barbershop for men? Try the Fleet Arcade in Wanchai or Talliana (?) in 2/F Melbourne Plaza Central. Hot towels and straight razors for a shave as well.

Any idea what they charge for a straight-edge shave?
I normally only get such shaves in China as the only place I know in Hong Kong (Mandarin) charges out of my budget...

Barber on Po Hing Fong opposite Blake Garden in Sheung Wan and short walk down from Mid levels.

Not English but last time I went the person before me was expat and it is about HK$58. As long as you don't need to give instructions or you can pass your phone to a local friend this guy is in the price range.
