It's pretty easy to find stuff which is functionally equivalent isn't it? The active ingredients are tea-tree oil and eucalyptus oil; I'm pretty sure there are plenty of soaps around with those in.

If the purpose was to smell good, then yes, it'd be easy to find an equivalent. But for anti-microbial purposes, a higher concentration is required, and most manufacturers probably won't add more than trace amounts of the active ingredients. This particular product has proven its efficacy.

Interestingly though, there is absolutely no data that I can find on their website which tells you what the concentrations of the two active ingredients are, so it is rather hard to check your assertion that they are higher than those found in other products.

And you wouldn't use tea-tree oil to make something smell good - the smell is not particularly pleasant.

Moreover, this claim

Eucalyptus oil is recognized by The Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS) which is the official compendium for Homeopathic Drugs in the U.S.

on the Defense Soap website implies that they believe in homeopathy, which immediately negates any claim to scientific respectability.

Yes, well, I have been through this conversation before on other forums, from your perspective. I'm not looking to convince anyone. Just checking to see if anyone has spotted it for sale in HK.

I do find the smell of tea tree oil very appealing though. It's a matter of personal preference.

Hey so I know this is an old thread but I've actually just moved to Hong Kong and am looking for defense soap as well.

Has anyone found where to bought this locally here? I looked into shipping it and it's insanely expensive.
