People are bored with the black rainstorm, aren't they ;-p

    OK, lets see:

    - Going to Canada, but in-laws from HK.
    - I'm going next week, so can't make a quick trip to Vietnam, etc by then.
    - Pole dancing for the missus's mother would probably result in her having a back operation.
    - Pron DVDs? Where does one even get them now? Don't you just download them?
    - Wine, probably not, as they are not big drinkers. I may get some booze anyway, to ease the pain when i'm there.
    - Oh PDLM - not wife, mistress. And already tried there. She's helping me as much as I did when she was deciding what to get for my folks (i.e. not much help).

Then I guess the best present you could give them would be a significant diamond on her finger.

Are there foodstuffs they miss and would like? Dried Chinese mushrooms. XO sauce. Ma-tai puddings. And, of course, mooncakes.

What about Chinese books ? fiction, cooking etc
Limited choice overseas and very expensive too. You could ask what the 'latest must read' is in some bookstore.
And the same with Dvds, there must be quite a lot of films they haven't watched that are from HK.

These are the kind of gifts my parents would like anyway.

If they are Chinese just give them some money in a red envelope. Let them buy something they like.

    Was thinking something crystal actually!

Re the others, thanks for the comments as well!!

I think a diamond may be busting the budget a bit too much though.
