Looking for an elegant gown, 50th birthday

I'll turn 50 in Nov and am coming to HK to have a holiday and maybe find an elegant not too dressy gown for my birhtday. Does anybody have suggestions? Black may be the colour and "economy" is the price range

    Anne,

    How about a Chinese Cheongsam?

It is difficult to find gowns in Western sizes, you'll need to have something custom made.

Try Sparkles in the Pedder Building or Evelyn B in the Grand Progress Building - can't quite recall the address but its in Lan Kwai Fong - same building as Ozzie Cossie.

    Thank you

Thank you very much. I'll check the ideas you gave me. It might be a good idea to have a Chinese dress-so many friends of mine are celebrating as well and I don't have "anything to wear"

This weeks List has a long list of places incl. Siriporn on Cochrane St - you can see it from the escalator and Blac de Cine in the Pedder Building that does Chinese-style, also lots of the shops in Stanley sell chinese style dresses.

Blanc de Chine's dresses are very beautiful, but forbiddingly expensive (even more so than Shanghai Tang). For a good quality Cheong Sam I'd highly recommend Linva Taylor on Cochrane Street.
