does pigskin lining in shoes eat socks?

I have a pair of handmade shoes lined with the pigskin that continually seem to be eating holes in my socks.

I am wondering if it is the pigskin, and if therefore this lining should be avoided for a synthetic or cowhide lining.

    this is a shopping matter.

Where are the holes in your socks? If it's in the toes then trim your nails.

that has already been checked out and it is not the reason.

The shoes were also making holes in the heels.

Maybe they simply don't fit? Or maybe you need to buy better socks?

Since the shoes are custom made, fit is not an issue, and in any case the feet know before the socks if the shoes don't fit.

Even with better socks, the issue would be the same. If the shoe lining is stressing them it would be stressing the sock no matter what the quality. It would just take longer with more expensive presumable better socks.
