Tricker's Sole/ Goodyear Welt Repair

Hi,

Does anyone know a reputable repair shop than is used to handling Goodyear Welted shoes. I have two pairs that need sprucing up, one with a Commando Sole and the other with a Double leather sole.
Tassels in The landmark repair Alden and EG but it takes up to 3 months!
In the UK it cost about £80 resole a pair.

I know what you mean. I've not found anyone to resole leather shoes properly. I asked my tailor the other day and he sent me round the corner to the shoe repair place and they kindly offered the normal service of sawing off the worn section of sole and sticking a new bit of leather in which wasn't really what I had in mind so I passed on their kind offer, remarkably economically priced though it was.

So if you do find somewhere, I'll be interested too. That said, I'm certainly not looking to pay 80 of your English pounds for the privilege.

£80 is a lot but when the shoes cost 300+ and still have plenty of life left its worth it. New soles, new stitching etc isn't cheap. I asked Tricker's directly and they quoted £140, this is the ideal option as it will be done on the original last keeping the shape but it does dent the wallet somewhat.
