Do you have to buy a set of guards with various degrees of bend to accommodate different bananas? Or do you have to specifically pick bananas that fit within the curvature tolerance? This would be a pain as I usually don't take my calipers to the market.

I think I saw it either at the South Horizon Shop or the one in Causeway Bay. . . but I'm leaning more towards the S. Horizon branch.

Man, I can't believe there is actually a discussion on banana guards!!

I have tried the bendy ones before and I've found them not to be so great. After a while the plasitc on the bendy ones eventually breaks. Also, you get bruising around where the banana touches the bendy bits of the banana.

I've not got a guard which isn't bendy, but so far all bananas I've used on it fits. You sometimes need to cut the stem, but that's about it.

If I have time I'll send a photo of it.

With the bendy one I had previously often the banana wouldn't fit.

Just order from Chainreaction as giles suggested. Their overseas shipping is cheap enough that it beats hunting all over HK to find one.

Love this amount of detailed, tried 'n' tested experience / point of view.

Also never knew such things existed - bananas are a fave so will look out for a couple of them (handier than just making do with bubble-wrap pockets).

I'm looking for a banana hammock. Does anyone know where I could get one?

I find few people know the cost of their time.... Your comment fell on deaf hears...

Post people will gladly walk around for 4 hours to save HK$60 or some bollocks,

These banana guards are always gigantic, I wonder if foot long bananas exist anywhere in the world?
I end up having to cut the stem to fit it in too, bad ergonomics !

Also, whipping them out can be a bit embarrassing, someone asked me if it was a sex toy once, not joking!

So I just happen to walk past the Jusco $10 store and and decided to look for a banana guard. I mean who wants the suffer the hard ache of banana trauma, right? Well, here it is . . . It looks like something that will get you excommunicated from the Church if found in your possession.

And the heart-shaped vents don't exactly help its case as a legit household item.
