Smile Any Indian grocery store in Western District?

    All,

Is any one of you aware of an Indian grocery store in Western District of Hong Kong (Kennedy Town, Pokfulam, Sheung Wan? It is so much pain heading either to TST or CWB to buy basic stuff like Basmati rice and dhaals.

    Your help is appreciated!

I think stores in TST can deliver the goods to home. You can check with them.

Yes but I am bit worried about quality if things just arrive home. I like to look at the stuff before buying (i.e. any dust/worms in beans, freshness etc.)

    Thanks for your reply though.

there is one Indian/Nepali store in Central. I dont remember the street name. There are lots of vegetable sellers in the street. Its a small shop in the corner, you can miss it easily so plz be careful.
The guy sells almost everything basic, rice, daal, flour, spices, namkeens etc, etc.

There's a store on Queen's Road West, opposite Sutherland Street.. If you're taking bus No. 10, http://www.citybus.com.hk/eng/RouSer...routenumber=10
it's just a 2 min walk (towards Kennedy Town). It's called 4 Seasons.. run by a Nepali couple..

If you walk along Queen's Road West.. there is another Indian grocery store behind the western police station.. i think it's called first street.. you'll have to turn left once you see the police station (on your right-hand side).. found that by chance, since there is a FAB bbq restaurant nearby..

Gurubhai and Native.Code I have been up and down Graham Street twice yesterday but haven't been able to locate this store. A few months earlier too someone suggested this store and I tried looking for it then but couldn't find it. Where exactly is it? What is the shop number? Any landmark?

    Hi Joyofliving,

I've already answered this question elsewhere on Geoexpat but here goes again...

The store selling Indian groceries on Graham St. is run by a Nepali couple. If you are walking down on Graham street towards the wet market, the store is on your right side. It is very tiny and unmarked. You just have to keep your eyes open for large packets of basmati rice and the like.

It is close to the top of Graham street and just opposite a shop that sells cakes called "Sweet Desserts" or something. Just look into every shop on your right walking down on Graham St. and you will find it.

    Hope this helps.

    Chloe

p.s - you do know of all the other indian stores in TST and Wan Chai that home deliver for orders over $ 150/- right?
