Furniture for living room: horizon plaza or macau or shenzhen

    thanks. Ikea is the backup plan if nothign works out
    we have been buying from Ikea in past and wanted to try out something different this time...any help on macau/shenzhen furniture shopping please?

    There are a slew of furniture places just left up the hill of the main tourist site in Macau (whatever the ruined cathedral is called). You really can't miss them. They generally do wooden furniture, not sofas. They have premade stuff, can follow your custom designs, or rip things off existing catalogs.

    No idea what it's like compared to Shenzhen, but I regard Shenzhen as a place to avoid if at all possible. You can bet on the stores being closed for the proper CNY days, but they *might* be open tomorrow. If you can wait, you should go at least a couple of weekends from now to be safe- it's not like the factories will be working anyway.
