URGENT - hose for dehumidifier in Wanchai

All help appreciated thanks Needed for today. Just need the name and address I can find it on map. Bought a couple at the weekend and need one on continuous. Bought a hose but it's backfilling into the water box What I actually need is a 9mm hose 2metres in length with a connection that will actually latch onto the hose outlet of dehumidifier.

Flying out tonight and don't want to come back to damp

Is the drain end of the hose lower than where the front end is placed?

Yep but I fudged it so that the hose I have is too big for the hose outlet. Would prefer a 9mm hose with something that I can secure to outlest

OK, so how is the hose secured to the outlet? I would imagine it would be different for different makes of dehumidifiers.

If it's just a 9mm hose and a jubilee clip that you need then just take a stroll down either Thomson Road or Lockhart Road, there are plenty of shops that sell lengths of hose.

Bear in mind that if you're planning on leaving it running unattended you are exchanging the slight risk of mold for the slight risk of burning the whole building down and everybody in it. Have you considered just getting a load of those anti-humidity tablet thingys instead and putting them all over the place (esp in wardrobes etc)?

And, errr, you're not in my building are you?

There is a little shop that sells hoses and stuff on Spring Street in Wanchai off QRE - across the street from Hopewell.

contact the actual manufacturer/distributor, if it's designed for a hose outlet, they will have an official accessory, will fit better and have less leaks, will have the proper clip, not sure a diy after market solution will have this clip

if not, a diy after market solution from a hardware store, somewhere like end of jenvois st, sheung wan, bring a picture assuming you can't speak cantonese (九mm 兩米膠喉/gau mm leung mai gaau hau),

Or just run your air con for the days you're away.

Ha ha Dipper. I'm above and below you so you will either burn or get wet from overflow. Liking the near Hopewell 5 minute walk option combined with a visit to Taste cheers for that.

Incidentally I found a Taste in Hang Hau, my closest town, at the weekend. It's so large and well laid out I almost came on the spot. (apols Sue but I was excited!)

Dealt on the hose (Spring Garden Lane). Struggled on language barrier with clip but I think I can improvise. If that fails aircon on low

Has anyone ever managed to get their dehumidifier to drain to a hose? I have tried it so many time, different models, different size/ length of hose, no kinks, straight fall to the drain. Nothing. It always stops running. What is the solution?
