The 75% variety is readily available at Mannings and Watsons, but I've had no luck finding the 95% stuff. Any suggestions?

100% Isopropyl Alcohol are usually supplied with cd/dvd cleaning kits with cd brushes and liquid solution ( smalll quantity, ie 10ml), most dvd/cd retailers sell this
larger quantity as used in cleaning pcb, cd/dvd lens, ect.. are found in electronic component stores, ie, ap liu st, actual stores on side of the market stalls.
Hi,
Following Raccon's suggestion in the other thread about my DVD player, I was wondering the same too. The package I picked up (cleaning disk + liquid) doesn't state the ingredients and/or pureness of the Isopropyl Alcohol. Heck it could be water in there for all I know. Can it be safely assumed that what is in the bottle is 100% isopropanol and not something else, or severely diluted?

dvd/cd lens cleaners liquid must be pure isopropyl alcohol as i have used it many times impure liquids will smear lens and causes the lens to unreadable (leaves the impurity on the lens when evaporated), so far i have used it in HK, 6 ps2 (4 thick ones, 2 thins ones), 7 dvd player, 1 high end marantz (equivilent model HK$3500 CD7005) cd67 se cd player, 2 pc engine cd rom and portable cd player and one mini hifi, the only time it did not work was an md player.
if you want to be double sure, ap liu st electronics (not the market, actural store,) 100% isopropyl alcohol available in 100ml for around HK$110, 200ml at $200
And we have a winner
. . . and a little story as nothing comes easily in Hong Kong. I googled "isopropyl alcohol in Chinese," and cut-n-pasted the characters into a document that I print. With paper in hand I wander Wan Chai looking for electronic shops, hardware stores and dispensaries. I come up empty with my first three attempts. I walk into FM Dispensary in Wan Chai Road and show the guy behind the counter my paper. He looks up from the paper and shouts at an underling in Cantonese. The underling shoots out of the store like Usain Bolt out of the blocks. The guy behind the counter moves on to the next customer. He hasn't said a word to me yet. I try to make eye contact with him - no luck. I'm at a loss at what is going on. I linger as I *think* the underling is going to fetch a bottle of alcohol but I don't know for sure. The little store is crowded and I'm in the way. So I start to walk out. Just then, the guy behind the counter motions to me with his eyes and produces a bottle of 99% I.A seemingly out of nowhere, like a magician. There is no way the underling returned to the store without me noticing. Very surreal but $25 later, I have a 420ml bottle of 99% I.A.
Many thanks to the forum denizen for the suggestions.
I hadn't seen your thread before (sorry) but I would have suggested a "real" pharmacy. The chains haven't seemed to be in the "pharmacy business" for some time.
