Lightbulb Where to find cooking ingredients, herbs and spices in HK?

Does anyone have any good recommendations on where to find cooking ingredients, herbs and spices that are usually impossible to find in the local supermarkets?

Things like Garland, Lemongrass, Galanga, Pennywort, Sambal Balachan, Rojak Paste, Prawn Paste, Curry & Indian spices etc

As you can see, I'm looking for mixed variety of Singaporean, Malaysian, Indian and Thai spices as part of my culinery exploration.

I live in Lai Chi Kok/Kowloon so nearby locations would be preferable, but I am willing to travel if necessary to a place that has everything I can possibly need.

    Many Many Thanks in Advance!

Try Elements, 360, they have a variety of international foods there. I've found some Sporean stuff at City Super in IFC as well.

Indian supply shops are generally very handy when it comes to having a broad range of herbs & spices that you can buy relatively cheaper than any super market too.

I get most of our herbs & spices from:

    SAFWAN Provisional store
    Shop No 35 GF,
    8 Wang Fat Path
    Yuen Long PH 2478 6866
    or 2478 6827.

There are also a number of Indo, Arabic supply stores in that el fresco mall. You should be able to find most, if not everything that you are after.

If your order is big enough, they can also arrange delivery, like they do for a lot of the Indian restaurants....

Thanks for the pointer I'll try checking out Elements as it's not too far from my place. Yuen Long is a tad too far for me. And since I only cook for myself, my order quantity will probably be too small to arrange for delivery. Might try it at some point, it sounds like that place has a good variety of spices from south east asia.

    Thanx guys!
