TB: these places do exist. why people don't shop them? not as convenient as popping into your local supermarket. also, you do need to buy more than at the supermarket and with limited freezer space, most families just don't have the room to buy this way. (but i'm sure you know this already as i've posted dozens of times about the places we've bought from.)

we use a frozen wholesaler in sai kung. we get excellent beef fillet, around 4lbs for about $300-ish? baby back ribs, tyson chicken breasts.... all of the meat we buy is imported.

don't think they deliver to tst though, sorry OP.

having spent 3 years living on a cattle farm in canada, you're right... i don't know the first thing about good tasting beef... :-/

some of the meat selection at the frozen wholesaler is rubbish. their t-bones are like eating a car tire.

their tenderloin (they have it from NZ, Aust, China & ****--can't remember)... we've had the NZ and it was fantastic. as are the baby back ribs from the USA. their chicken breasts are tyson (if you go for the usa ones. they also have them from brazil.)

Umm I had a quick squiz at that 88178hk website and fk me dead, how over priced is that place ?!?! Their NZ lamb rack = $330hkd per kg !!! That's fkn mad ! I pay $200HKD for 1.5kg in our area, no point mentioning the shops name as they don't have a delivery service as per the Brits comment.

Also for anybody that's interested, you can buy Aus rump steak ( fresh not frozen ) at Taste at East Point's ( Hang Hau ) deli/butchers counter for $88hkd per half kg which has to be one of the better fresh meat deals going.

I have to say, the Taste in Hang Hau is one of the best ones I have ever come across, it's much bigger than the Festival Walk location, which used to be my benchmark Taste supermarket. East Point is now my new favourite supermarket and it charges about 20% - 50% less on a typical grocery bill compared to the Sai Kung supermarkets, which are really taking the piss out of our demographic. I've boycotted the Sai Kung town supermarkets, they can both get farked..

Yep we pay the same amount at our local Sai Kung ( the old part of town ) meat supplier for NZ rib eye. Did a mean 3.5lb ribeye roast a couple of weeks ago, was delish @ $65 per pound.

I used to get my meat from Taste in Hang Hau, until I tried the meat from the new Jasons Supermarket on the ground floor of the Edge mall opposite TKO MTR. Their australian beef is amazing - tender and packed with flavour. I have found a lot of the meat is cheaper than at Taste - especially the chilled Australian chicken. they have the frozen legs of NZ lamb as well, also cheaper than Taste. Plus Taste seems to have some dodgy freezers and fridges at the moment, so I am avoiding buying chilled / frozen stuff there.
