Is HK is about to get less food options?

I just came back from Park n Shop and they were putting up signs to ask people to sign a petition. Apparently from 29 May due to a HK food labeling law change all foods with claims to be 'less' or 'low' etc on the label will have to be taken off the shelves.

Given how many things from NZ, Australia, UK, US are labeled in this way they estimate that about 15,000 products will be affected.

I doubt companies like Kraft or Heinz would bother relabeling to suit HK it may be the end of these products here and over the next month I expect there will be a rush on the 'international' type supermarkets stocking all our favorites.

I could have it all wrong but this is the gist of what the sign going up said.

    Does anyone know more?

Just means they place extra stickers on the products.

It's common place in the US for barcodes, or nutritional information panels.

So if it is that easy why was PnS scaremongering with big signs and a petition?

Because some people think with their mouth not their brain.
