When I used to live in the UK, I always bought my electronic gadget/accessories from Hong Kong sellers on ebay, e.g. computer cables, phone batteries, chargers, etc. Now that I live here, I thought it would be perfect, I could get my cheap junk and not have to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery, right?
Wrong.
None of the Hong Kong sellers on ebay ship to Hong Kong. They offer free shipping almost worldwide, but they don't ship here. Concrete examples?
I was looking for a battery:

And for an optical cable:

I then tried Shenzhen sellers instead. Same problem, e.g.

All apparently different sellers. Plenty more examples but you get the picture.
So - Why is this??
It drives me crazy. So I have to spend half a day to go to Sham Shui Po and buy the same stuff, most likely at twice the price (or more), or pay tons more on Hong Kong Island. I think it might even come out cheaper to buy from a UK seller and have the same junk shipped all the way back to Hong Kong, when it originated here to begin with. Just strikes me as so wrong.
So, does anybody know why this happens, or know of a way to get this stuff for cheap locally?
