Bait and Switch, scam, or good deal?

So I'm in the market for a new TV (the World Cup is coming up after all) and have been poking around Price.com.hk for some of the prices. I'm looking at a Samsung TV and I see a real crazy range of prices. There is a general consensus around a basic MSRP price ($24,000), then some about $7,000 higher and then some about $7,000 lower.

Some of the listings have website links and when I goto the website and look up the TV there, the price is significantly higher than the one on Price.com.hk.

Is this some sort of bait and switch or is there some special deal that I'm not getting out of Google translate? Kind of curious.

P6 - Lots of businesses setup specifically to trade on price.com.hk (they squeeze the hell out of the margins and make a far smaller percentage on the sale than traditional B&M). Most of these guys will take your order and ask the distributor to deliver - with minimal service or time spent on the transaction.

Take a look at ecox and hdlife. Both have been recommended here and we've bought appliances from HD Life. They should give you a good base pricing to work with.

Thanks. It was HDLife that I was most curious about, since their quoted price on Price.com.hk was $18,990 (page 2 of the listings) and the price on the website was $32,000. Wasn't quite sure why there would be that much of a swing.

they don't advertise on their website due to duopolistic actions of the big two company, simple as that, a smallish/medium retailer with probably 10 stores against massive company with probably 200 stores

if they did, the distributors will receive warnings from these big companies/holdings (similar situation happened to a small food retailer against the supermarkets which are the same owners as two big electronic stores mentioned above)

Looking at the comments on Price.Com.Hk seems like many of these retailers throw in a 10% discount or more, in the form of PnS coupons.

Which makes it all ironic ...

My recent experience of price.com : for a Sony Xperia compact : the cheaper price right price was not available when I checked the advertised wanchaI computer mall store : instead the price was a few hundreds more expensive than the price .com but cheaper by a couple of hundred compared to fortress . Ended up buying fortress as they have a 10day return guarantee and the product is going to be legit . If I had time and energy could have checked again further stores via price.com I guess .
