Japan Home should have them, but before you rush their with a malfuctioned wardrobe, wait for someone else to re-confirm.

Hope you got it sorted.....I hate to think of you wandering around in crotchless gym shorts
The "Halloween" Market steps, well the lower bits between Stanley Street and Queens Road Central, across from Pottinger Street. There the market stalls are all about sewing, fabric, zippers, strings, ribbons, etc.
Pottinger street to that nice lady at the stall towards Wellington street end. Or Japan Home stores for a small sewing kit, Man Fung Home supplies ( forget the correct name but it's along Queens Rd central. Towards Sheung Wan, next to Japan Home. ). Next door to Japan Home Store on Queens Rd Central / East, to here is a shopping mall ( forget the name. Sorry) which right inside to the left has a sewing shop. The lady there is lovely. Has lots of thread et al, and if you're lucky, may sew it up for you.
If you're really in trouble, parallel streets ( Wellington) behind have plenty of hardware shops to fix the rip for you. ;-)
Ok I did get it sorted. There was a lovely man in the dry cleaners in that strange arcade with all the paintings - the one between connaught Rd and the midlevels escalator who just gave me a needle and thread to fix it up. Wouldn't take payment. So nice to find friendly folks still exist. And so nobody in the pump class got too much of a fright! Thanks everyone. Geo is a great resource in an emergency.
